Nothing hurt. Nothing was urgent. And yet, over time, comfort never fully returned. Indoors, my body stayed just uncomfortable enough to notice — like ease never quite became the default again.

I didn’t think about my nervous system when this started. I noticed it through reactions — the way my body responded to indoor spaces before I had time to reason through what I was feeling.

I thought healing would feel like relief. Instead, certain phases felt harder — not because I was getting worse, but because my body was finally trying to come out of protection in a space that still asked it to brace.

Lingering exposure wasn’t something I noticed while I was still indoors. I felt it afterward — the way my body carried the space with it, even once I was no longer there.

I wanted to relax, and I had the time to do it — but my body never crossed the threshold. Indoors, relaxation didn’t arrive naturally, like the signal kept getting interrupted.

Buildup wasn’t something I noticed in a single moment. I felt it as persistence — the sense that whatever was present in the air wasn’t clearing, just quietly staying with me.

The quieter everything became, the louder my body felt. Indoors, still environments didn’t calm my system — they exposed how much it was still working in the background.

Saturation wasn’t something I noticed during a single moment. I felt it as a limit — the sense that my system was already full, even before any new demand showed up.

I wasn’t stuck emotionally — my system just needed more time. Indoors, feelings resolved more slowly, not because I was holding on, but because my body couldn’t fully reset between moments.

Overwhelm didn’t arrive as panic for me. It showed up as saturation — the sense that my system was full, with no space left to absorb anything else.
