I thought safety would feel reassuring. What finally convinced my body was something much quieter — days so ordinary they stopped registering at all.

Once life stopped shifting, I expected my body to relax into it. Instead, indoor air felt more noticeable — not because it was worse, but because my system was no longer distracted by survival.

I kept waiting for calm to feel reassuring. What finally changed wasn’t the calm itself — it was the moment I stopped tracking it.

I thought calm would soften everything. Instead, some indoor spaces felt sharper once my body stopped bracing — as if intensity arrived after the tension left.

Uneventful days were what I wanted most — and the hardest for my nervous system to believe were real.

Nothing obvious had changed in my home, yet my body reacted to indoor air differently after a long stretch of illness and exhaustion. That shift confused me until I understood what burnout leaves behind.

Stability arrived quietly. What lingered was the feeling that relaxing too soon might cost me something I couldn’t afford to lose.
