At some point, I realized I was asking the wrong people to understand something they had no reference for. Letting go of that expectation was painful—but also quietly relieving.

Aging doesn’t make people fragile — but it can change how much stimulation the nervous system can comfortably process at once.

I wasn’t asking for special treatment. I was asking for conditions my body could tolerate. Still, needing a safer space slowly became something I felt guilty about.

What I noticed wasn’t illness or clear complaints — it was subtle shifts in sleep, mood, and regulation that were easy to explain away until they repeated.

I wasn’t asking for attention. I was trying to get through the day. This is what I learned about why everyday survival can look exaggerated to people who aren’t living inside it.

I started noticing it not in dramatic symptoms, but in subtle shifts — behavior, sleep, and regulation that changed without an obvious reason.

I didn’t plan to keep parts of my life hidden. It happened slowly, as explaining became harder and misunderstanding felt more costly than silence.

Nothing about my reactions was dramatic enough to point to. They came and went, shifted with context, and were easy to dismiss — until I stopped expecting them to look obvious.

To outsiders, it sounds like an obvious solution. To someone living inside it, “just move” carries layers of loss, fear, and impossibility that rarely get acknowledged.

I didn’t set out to study EMFs. I learned about them the way most people do — because my body stopped tolerating what it once ignored.
