I expected a smell. What I didn’t expect was the tension. Every time I entered a freshly painted room, my body tightened in ways I couldn’t explain. It wasn’t dramatic — just a quiet signal that took time to understand.

Nothing about the air changed after dark. There was no new odor, no visible shift — yet some rooms felt harder to be in at night. Understanding why helped me stop treating that heaviness as a warning sign.
