I used to think of my home as one shared space. What I didn’t realize was how certain pet areas quietly became environments of their own — shaping how the air felt in ways that didn’t match the rest of the room.

I worried that writing things down would make me more anxious — that it would lock my attention onto symptoms and patterns. Instead, it did the opposite. Putting words on paper gave my body permission to stop holding everything at once.

Nothing dramatic changed. I didn’t remove my pets or overhaul my home. What shifted was the rhythm of our shared space — and my body noticed the difference quietly, without urgency or fear.

I needed a way to notice what was happening without turning my life into a constant assessment. Tracking helped — not because it gave me answers, but because it let my body stop holding everything at once.

Dander didn’t feel like something that changed — it just existed. What surprised me was how my body reacted differently as time passed, even though nothing obvious about the space seemed new.
